Heat Dust

Cassette Waypoint Tapes

Fuzz Rock

Heat Dust hails from New Orleans, a town bustling with great bands, world class bands, that no one has ever heard of. I guess when people think about Nawlins music they think almost exclusively of jazz and zydeco. From everything I can tell it’s also home to one of the more colorful DIY scenes in the nation and Heat Dust is living proof. The most obvious comparison I can make here is Dinosaur JR without the wankery. They also remind me a little bit of a polished full band version of some of the distorted home recording, one man rock bands that have been going around in recent years… but better. This tape is not pure 90’s worship, it’s good honest rock and roll. The production sounds really full, the bassy guitar tone manages to sound really smooth dispite some heavy heavy distortion and the vocals sit really nicely with a little reverb.

Listen to the whole EP here and then buy the tape. The cassette it’s self looks awesome.
